This book takes a look at the reason why The Duke of York in 1936 was proclaimed King and how the lives of the royal family changed due to the abdication of King Edward VIII. The main part of the book looks at the work the Duke and Duchess had undertaken up to that point, the lives of the young Princesses and the planning for the coronation. The book has a number of black and white photographs and colour photos of the royal crowns. This book was issued by Middlesex County Council during Coronation year as a commemoration to the event and at the back of the book is a list of Personnel for that Council during that year.
