This very fine, small commemorative china cup and saucer set was produced by Coalport to celebrate the Coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in 1937. The main face of the cup shows the two portraits with flags and the commemoration is printed above and below. The opposite face is plain. The top edge has a blue rim and there is blue flashing down the decorative handle. The saucer has a portrait of Princess Elizabeth, the King's eldest daughter and our present Queen. There is also a blue rim to the edge of the saucer. The Coalport back stamp is printed on the underside of both items. The cup and saucer are in very good condition with no chips or cracks or crazing.
