Distributed by - William Whiteley Cup Height - 3.25 inches (8 cms) Diameter - 3.75 inches (9.5 cms) Saucer width - 6.25 inches (15.5 cms) This beautiful large cup and saucer set was produced to commemorate the Jubilee of the reign of Queen Victoria in 1887. William Whiteley's was a department store in the early 1900's and these items have his trademark on the under side - the maker's name is unknown. The main face of the cup shows the royal crown which has embossed white spots to represent the jewels and there is also the commemoration printed above and below within garlands. The rest of the cup is quite plain except for a metallic gold band to the top and flashing down the handle. The saucer has the same design and also a metallic gold rim. The set is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. Please see all photographs as they form part of this description.
